Dr. Joaquin Sumaya is originally from Garden City, KS, and attended Washburn University where he earned his undergraduate degree and met his wife, Magda. Together they have three boys, Emilio, Felipe, and Diego. They also have a beagle named Rambo.
Dr. Sumaya received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University in 2014. Dr. Sumaya mastered several chiropractic and soft tissue techniques to personalize treatment for every patient. Dr. Sumaya combines the chiropractic techniques of Gonstead, Diversified, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Thompson, Activator Methods, and Logan Basic.
Dr. Sumaya is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, where his training and course work were taught, provided, and oversaw by the doctors of the U.S. Olympic Committee.
Applying his skills and extensive knowledge in neuro-musculoskeletal disorders, nutrition, physical therapy, biomechanics, and sports injuries, Dr. Sumaya has earned the reputation of being an exemplary doctor who is truly concerned about his patients. He takes care of all ages—pediatrics through seasoned and treats a variety of problems and concerns. Dr. Sumaya teaches his patients about obtaining optimal health through chiropractic, exercise, and nutrition.
Outside of the clinic, Dr Sumaya enjoys lifting weights, cooking, spending time with family, and continually challenging himself.
